Presentation outline:

This is a demo-driven introduction to CDI/Seam 3.

Based on CDI, the next generation dependency injection API included in Java EE 6, Seam 3 is composed of a set of Java EE plug-ins for persistence, security, logging, internationalization, JSF, Wicket, GWT, JAX-RS, email, Quartz, iText, JasperReports, JavaScript remoting, JMS, Drools, jBPM, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and much more.

Before diving into the details of Seam 3, we will explore the basics of CDI such as injection, scoping, qualifiers, naming, producers, disposers, stereotypes, interceptors, decorators and lightweight type-safe events. We will also discuss the relationship between CDI, Java EE, JSF, EJB, JPA, Weld and Seam 3 as part of this session.

Seam 3/CDI will be demonstrated in step-by-step running code using CanDI, Resin's independent CDI implementation.
